MaKenya Owens

MaKenya was born and raised in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She has moved away a couple of times, but always ends up back home. She loves the small city feel of Cape and has enjoyed starting her family here.

MaKenya is a graduate of Cape Central High School and she attended Southeast Missouri State University. She has over 15 years of HR/Recruiting experience but was recently called to the world of nonprofit. Her current position has allowed her to connect with people from all walks of life, communicate more effectively, love equally and meet people where they are. These skills will be even more important to her as she helps families determine what their home ownership goals are. No matter what position she holds her passion is to help people. She genuinely loves seeing others grow and become a better version of themselves. She is excited to help families navigate the home ownership process and find their forever homes.

She is blessed to be a Mom to 4 amazing kiddos – 3 daughters (ages 17, 14, 13) and 1 son (age 3). They love watching addictive reality TV shows, cooking together and traveling. Her kids are her world and her WHY! She wants to be a real life example that God is faithful, hard work pays off and that always doing your best yields positive results! She encourages her kids daily that the world needs who they were created to be and she is excited to be able to share this next part of her journey with them.

MaKenya wants to see families WIN! She wants to help people realize that homeownership doesn’t have to be hard, stressful or only for certain people. She is here to walk with them through the process, show them how they can turn a dream into a reality, build a legacy, and be able to provide a safe place for their family to build memories for years to come.
